long time no blog! lol. sorry to like all of my 7 readers.
this song's going around in my head!!
原谅我当天不懂得珍惜
只知任性坏事情...
唯愿你此刻可于虚空中将心聆听
将来若真的再有个约会会完成
真的会再有这样深情
我以天为证跟你带领
我以天为证请你带领
It's from the canto show
My Date With A Vampire II! It's amazing haha. Also, been singing
Sarang in gayo from
Goong: Princess Hours haha. That's one nice song man. Love it!
So i said I'd blog about stuff that's been happening.. Well, i got a
job at the
Singapore Zoo. Spent my
Valentine's day there working.. It was an
on the job evaluation thing to assess if they wanted me. It was really really really really
FUN! I was placed at the Entrance where I basically tore up the tickets of people entering the zoo. I made a lot of mistakes when tearing the tickets (like tearing off the wrong part of the ticket altogether or forgetting to record the different types of tickets lol) but i think my energy more than made up for it. I was really like,
enthusiastically greeting people as they entered.. "Hi! Welcome to the Singapore Zoo=) " and with my typical big big smile
* haha.
Then I was placed on
exit duty as well, which was ALSO fun =) At least, the earlier parts, when I
gave out really cool Zoo bookmarks to little kids (OMG SO MANY AND ALL SO ADORABLE) and said bye to people leaving, giving
re-entry stamps to people who needed to enter again.. At exit duty I had to keep saying "Thanks for visiting the Zoo, hope to see you again" and other variations..
Then as it was
Valentine's Day, there were like
5678920319284761 couples turning up with
roses and cheesy couple shirts and all. I thought I would be bitter about it but surprisingly I was like really happy. Everytime I let a couple in I'd be like "Have a nice Valentine's day!" and
to my surprise I really meant it! I think it's sweet that couples would wanna come to the Zoo for Valentine's. Funny thing was when I wished them a Happy Valentine's, usually the guy would respond "Thanks, you too" and I'd be thinking "Do I look like I'm having a Happy Valentine's??" lol. But yea it was
uber fun. We also did maintenance checks of the entrance area, surveys of visitors and lunch was provided.
Mingling with the colleagues was great too and I really just loved seeing all the visitors.
In the end, however, it was a really
exhausting day. I
smiled till my cheek muscles ached and the
7hours of standing really hurt my back. Plus, after I was done with the day I walked all the way out to the main road from inside the zoo (that's a freaking long walk, like from SIM to Beauty World or something like that) to meet my dad.

My nametag=)
Earlier in the day I was told that I'd be
observed by people and cameras and that there would be '
spies' watching my progress so that they could
evaluate my behavior and suitability. I kinda felt as if I was on display for awhile and it sort of explained why
random people kept coming up to talk to me. But I
love that the
atmosphere was really friendly. All of us who were working for the Zoo would always smile at each other as we walked past and some even stopped for a friendly chat. It was really
awesome.
When it came to the end of the day (I'd done like 2 hours of exit duty and it was awfully tiring, having to smile and say "Thanks for coming to the zoo, have a great evening, have a nice day, see you again, blah blah blah" ) I was called to the corporate office for a
debrief. Now I must say that I'd actually
done some research before going for the first interview and I already knew that if I was shortlisted I'd have to go through the onthejob assessment thing, because I read the
blog of this other girl who had done it. So on that girl's blog, she was
told that they would contact her within a week from her onjobassessment to let her know if she got the job. She also mentioned that she had gotten some positive feedback so she felt she'd get the job and all.
So bearing all this in mind, I went to the debrief session thinking that if I'd done well I could
expect a call in the next week. So I went to the meeting room, and the lady in charge was all like "What did you learn from this" and "Would you be keen on taking up this job" etc. I gave the appropriate responses, and said that yea I could see myself doing this (but I didn't see it as like a confirmation of me taking the job coz i thought I'd have
a bit of leeway in that one week to consider whether or not i'd like it)..
Apparently my responses and performance that day were like
really good coz she handed me a file that she'd brought in with her and inside it was the SOP for staff, and other material that I'd needed. She said that there'd been
positive feedback from the people I worked with, people who were observing and also what she saw for herself..
I was all like o.0 ... She started talking about stuff like when I could make it and all. Then she was like, "Any other questions?" I kinda stared at her and went "
Uh, ok so uh, is this all OFFICIAL?" haha and she was like "yes"
So
my verdict for my performance that day: 4 words -
Hired on the spot. Pretty good I guess. I'm semi-looking forward to work. Haha. So you guys can
come visit me at the Zoo anytime =) Actually, not anytime.
Give me some warning haha.

Couldn't resist taking a picture of my uniform for the day haha. Was told to come down in plain white polo tee and dark jeans with covered sports shoes.. And you can see the handy little pouch we were given. It's awesome lol.

Had to hide out in the toilet to take these pictures lol. The only time you're allowed to check/use your phones.
So yup. After that went for
family dinner to send-off cousin (Biao Jie) who was going back to Canada.. She's prolly gonna
marry her Japanese boyfriend soon so we'll probably see her soon enough. Took lots of pictures with the cousins, had a lot of fun =) It was a
fun, enriching Valentine's Day i guess, haha.

My handsome boyfriend for the night lol. I think I did pretty well for myself, despite looking so hideous. LOL. I bagged the best looking guy in the restaurant! haha. sadly he's like, 5 years younger than me and related by blood. LOL

Ding and yang look really great here =)

Biao jie, take care and be safe=) <3
BEN!!! I'd really wanted to go for your talk thing but yea now you know what I was busy with=( Next time ok! =) haha
ok now for
explanation of the *. So I really don't think I have that nice a smile, seeing as I have the
horrible teeth and all, but
apparently a lot of people think I have a "great smile" which kinda
puzzles me haha. I was doing a presentation kinda thing in class for our
Public Speaking course, and I was really
nervous coz I didn't prepare well and didn't really know what to say. So being as nervous as I was, I
smiled constantly at the audience in a
semi-idiotic way. Then because everyone was supposed to evaluate everyone and hand their comments to the person who spoke, I had a chance to
see what everyone thought and the most common comment was
"Great smile" etc. Of course, a lot of people said I was "confident" which means the smiling effectively distracted them from my nervousness haha.
Joce told me after that that the only thing that gave my nerves away was how my neck area was turning progressively
redder as I spoke. HAHAHA. Amazing.
Apart from all that, I've been busy I guess. School and stuff. Oh oh! Val and I made a show! Oh man, another long story, haha. I'll blog about it another time. For now, just head on over to
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/untitled-for-now to have some good, almost clean fun! =)
Till the next time, ciao guys and love!
hmmm.. it's looking good, looking good =)
